हिमालयन बैंकको नाफा २२.१५% बढ्यो

Himalayan Bank Limited (HBL) has published its unaudited financial statement for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2081/82, reporting a 22.15 percent increase in net profit compared to the previous fiscal year.

The bank earned a net profit of NPR 1.51 billion in the review period, up from NPR 1.23 billion in the previous year. Despite a 9.99 percent drop in net interest income, the significant reduction in impairment charges—from NPR 5.26 billion to NPR 1.53 billion—helped boost profitability.

During the review period, the bank’s net fee and commission income fell sharply by 60.98 percent, while total operating income decreased by 4.72 percent. However, due to the steep decline in impairment charges, operating profit surged by 88.41 percent.

Himalayan Bank’s paid-up capital stands at NPR 21.65 billion, with reserves totaling NPR 16.25 billion. By the end of Ashad, the bank had collected NPR 309.15 billion in deposits and disbursed NPR 232.85 billion in loans.

However, its distributable profit remained negative at NPR 7.10 billion, with distributable earnings per share (EPS) also in the red at NPR 32.79. Meanwhile, EPS increased by NPR 1.27 to reach NPR 6.98.

By the end of the fiscal year, the bank’s Price-to-Earnings (P/E) ratio stood at 33.98 times, and net worth per share was NPR 175.07.
